Therapist-Led Support Groups for Moms in Tehama County

Motherhood can be deeply meaningful — and unexpectedly isolating.

Many women are surrounded by people all day… yet feel emotionally alone in what they’re carrying.

These support groups offer something different:

  • A space where you don’t have to explain yourself.

  • A space where you don’t have to hold everything together.

  • A space where other women quietly understand.

Facilitated by a licensed therapist, these groups are grounded, supportive, and intentionally small so every voice has room.

You Were Never Meant to Do This Alone

Somewhere along the way, many moms learned to:

  • push through exhaustion

  • minimize their needs

  • carry the invisible mental load

  • stay strong for everyone else

And while strength is admirable, motherhood was never meant to be solitary.

In group, something powerful happens:

Shame softens.
Nervous systems regulate.
Perspective widens.
Women remember themselves again.

You don’t have to arrive perfectly. You just have to arrive.

Why a Therapist-Led Group Matters

This isn’t a casual meet-up.

And it isn’t group therapy without direction.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I intentionally guide each group to create emotional safety, thoughtful reflection, and meaningful conversation.

You can expect:

  • A professionally facilitated space

  • Gentle structure without rigidity

  • Emotional attunement

  • Respect for every participant

  • Space to speak — and space to simply listen

Many women say the greatest relief is realizing: “It’s not just me.”

Who This Group Is Designed For

This group is designed for moms who:

  • Feel overwhelmed by the emotional weight of motherhood

  • Are tired of pretending they’re fine

  • Long for deeper, more honest connection

  • Want support without committing to individual therapy

  • Value reflection and emotional growth

You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from support.

Often, it is simply the desire to feel less alone that brings women here.

The healing power of group

While individual therapy can offer depth and privacy, there’s something uniquely healing about being in a group with other women who get it. Being witnessed. Feeling understood. Hearing someone else put words to an experience you thought you were alone in.

Over time, many women notice that the weight they’ve been carrying doesn’t feel quite as heavy. Isolation softens. Self-compassion grows. There’s a stronger sense of belonging and more permission to take up space as you are.

Healing doesn’t only happen in private. Sometimes it happens in community.

A note on readiness

These groups are meant to be supportive and grounding, but they aren’t a substitute for crisis care or intensive mental health treatment. If you’re in acute emotional distress or need immediate support, individual therapy or a higher level of care may be a better fit.

If you’re unsure what kind of support would be most helpful right now, I’m always happy to help you think that through.

Group details

Dates, times, and current availability are shared periodically. Groups are intentionally kept small so there’s room for each person, which means space is limited.

Why I offer these groups

As both a therapist and a mom, I’ve seen how easy it is for women to become emotionally isolated during motherhood, even when it looks like they have support on the outside.

I created these groups to offer a space where moms can exhale, speak honestly, and feel met without judgment. You deserve support that feels human, not performative.
